Ira M. Weinstein
Senior Analyst and Partner
Ira M. Weinstein is a senior analyst and partner at Wainhouse Research, and 20-year veteran of the conferencing, collaboration and audio-visual industries.
In his 10+ years as an industry analyst and consultant, Ira has contributed to dozens of articles, white papers, reports, and studies on rich media communications, videoconferencing, streaming and webcasting, audio-visual design and integration, and general business practices.
Ira is the co-manager of WR's Visual Communications Practice (VCP) which provides in-depth coverage of the videoconferencing, streaming, and AV markets.
In addition, Ira is the program manager for the Wainhouse Research end-user consulting practice, and has provided strategic advisory services to dozens of enterprises, both large and small, across various vertical markets. Support services range from helping define the company's conferencing strategy to creating RFIs and RFPs to the selection of the appropriate products, services, and vendors.
A key part of Ira's consulting and advisory support is his ability to understand complex client challenges thanks to his experience as the VP of Business Development at a large conferencing channel partner and as the Global Department Head responsible for global conferencing and collaboration at a Fortune 50 investment bank.
Ira also manages the Wainhouse Research test lab in Atlanta, GA. After conducting dozens of evaluations, Ira has become the leading independent authority on videoconferencing product performance. In the past three years, Ira has conducted numerous in-depth studies of videoconferencing endpoint products, multipoint control units, and management/control systems from all leading vendors.
Ira is a frequent speaker at industry events (e.g. Infocomm, PUG, Voicecon, and dozens of client-organized events around the world) and is frequently quoted by newspapers and magazines (e.g. Bloomberg, Business Week, Network World, No Jitter, Reuters, TMCNet, the Economist, the Wall Street Journal, ZDNet, etc.).
Mr. Weinstein holds a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from Lehigh University
