Andrew H. Nilssen
Senior Analyst and Partner

Andy Nilssen Andy has been a primary contributor to the Wainhouse Research portfolio of services, management consulting, training, and competitive analysis, since January 2000. Andy's primary focus is on audio/VoIP conferencing infrastructure, web conferencing, and IM/Presence technologies. Andy is a co-author of WR's recent Unified Communications Products report which sized the entire UC market space, and WR’s bi-annual WebMetrics, a series of in-depth survey reports that identify key trends and analyze user's needs.

Andy has over 25 years of experience in high-technology product marketing and market research. Prior to Wainhouse Research, he held Director-level positions in product marketing, new business development, and market research at PictureTel Corporation, where he launched the Venue and Concorde group videoconferencing systems, created the business plan for SwiftSite - the industry's first set-top videoconferencing appliance, and defined PictureTel's T.120-based information sharing strategy. Andy was also Vice President of Marketing at Visual Technology, a maker of IP-based network terminals, and Product Line Manager of entry SPARC workstations at Sun Microsystems. Andy has a B.S. in electrical engineering and MBA from the University of New Hampshire and holds two ease-of-use related patents.

Services

For equipment vendors, solution providers, and resellers, Andy offers programs and projects to conduct and deliver (i) technology, market, and end-user research, market sizing, and needs verification; (ii) emerging applications profiling; (iii) product marketing strategy, programs, and implementation including positioning, pricing, and channels strategy; (iv) business development opportunity identification, evaluation, and business case development and implementation; (v) product roll-out planning and implementation including sales and channel collaterals.
