USDLA Presents Wainhouse Research Senior Analyst Alan D. Greenberg with International Distance Learning Award for 2010 Outstanding Leadership by an Individual

7 May 2010, Duxbury, Massachusetts - Alan Greenberg, senior analyst and partner at Wainhouse Research, has been presented with the prestigious 2010 International Distance Learning Award for Outstanding Leadership by an Individual in Online Technology by the United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA) at its National Conference in St. Louis, Missouri.

This award is presented annually to an organization or individual to acknowledge major contributions made to the field of distance learning. As practice manager for the Wainhouse Research Distance Education and e-Learning advisory service, Greenberg has published white papers, market intelligence reports, forecast data, and research notes on a variety of distance education topics. Most notable among his contributions is a recent three-volume Landscape report that provides a comprehensive analysis of the leading vendors, technologies, and market drivers in the converging real-time and on-demand arenas. This body of work, coupled with Greenberg's years of experience in the field, has enabled many universities, corporations, and statewide networks deploying technologies to meet the needs of their learners.

"As a premier organization for the entire distance learning profession, we are honoring Wainhouse Research as a leader in the industry and recognizing the tremendous contributions made by Alan Greenberg," said Dr. John G. Flores, CEO of USDLA. "Alan has raised the bar of excellence and we are truly honored by his contributions to the distance learning industry."

Mr. Greenberg added, "This field is blossoming as educational organizations find new applications and markets. Lecture capture and social media are seizing the attention of higher education; interactive whiteboards, student response systems, and videoconferencing are making great gains in primary/secondary education; and web conferencing, simulation, and on demand tools are becoming the preferred approach for corporate training.  This award signals that our work over the years has addressed the needs of both vendor and end user communities and helped bring best practices to the forefront."

He is currently launching a unique subscription service covering policy, technology, and deployment issues for education users and vendors alike. The slate of topics includes on-the-spot analysis of breaking Ed Tech applications, the impact of disruptive technologies on education pedagogy, and pinpoint comparisons of leading and emerging technology products.
