New Research Reports Says Market for Conferencing Service Providers
To Reach $10.9 Billion by 2005, Up From $2.2 Billion in 1999

Study Forecasts 85% Growth Rate for Web and Streaming Conference Services

Oct. 11, 2000, Brookline MA - Wainhouse Research today announced availability of the company's newest market research report, "Teleconferencing Markets and Strategies Volume 3: The Conferencing Services Industry," an in-depth study of the video, audio, web conferencing, and streaming media services available to support enterprise conferencing applications.

The Conferencing Service Provider report forecasts that the overall conferencing market will grow by 30% over the five year forecast period, but that underneath this umbrella figures, some service segments will be growing much faster. For example, the web and streaming portions of the business will be growing by over 85% per year, while the operator-assisted audio conferencing business, which comprises the vast majority of today's service industry, will be growing much smaller. One bright spot in the voice conferencing business today is the high growth experienced by those service providers focused on reservation-less or on-demand audio conferencing. This segment is expected to grow strongly over the forecast period not only because it fits in with today's enterprise needs, but also because it is a natural accompaniment to web conferencing and remote presentations, which Wainhouse Research's study indicates are likely to be very high growth opportunities over the next few years.

Based on data collected by Wainhouse Research from several dozen vendors who shared proprietary revenue figures in order to help the research firm compile industry statistics, the resulting 230-page report contains over 35 figures and includes a detailed five-year forecast for five different conferencing service types in three different geographic regions.

The report also includes an overview and analysis of 53 conferencing service provider companies that Wainhouse Research believes are either leaders in their respective markets or are candidates to become industry players because of their unique technology, innovative business strategy, or their position with respect to the impending IP revolution.

While other reports have focused on the audio conferencing services industry, this is the first industry study to focus on multimedia conferencing - the convergence of audio, video, and web-based conferencing technologies into an integrated visual collaboration environment.

The Conferencing Services Industry is Volume 3 of Wainhouse Research's Teleconferencing Markets and Strategies. Volume 1 covered Multimedia Networking Infrastructure Products and Vendors; Volume 2 covered the Endpoint Conferencing Systems and Vendors.

"Teleconferencing Markets and Strategies is available on an annual subscription basis for $12,500. Individual reports are also available separately for $3,295.
