Wainhouse Research Partners with 6Sight Future of Imaging Conference Event to explore the impact of visual technologies on the enterprise and consumers; intersection of mobility, conferencing, optics, and camera phones to lead to transformation of visual communications October 11, 2006, Brookline, MA - Representing the unified communications and rich media conferencing and collaboration industry, Wainhouse Research has become a partner to the upcoming 6Sight Future of Imaging Conference. This event, produced by Future Image and two leading imaging industry organizations, will be held at the Monterey Plaza Hotel and Spa in Monterey (California) October 24 and 25, 2006. Wainhouse Research Senior Analyst & Partner Alan Greenberg comments, "The 3G market for gateways, media servers, application servers, and other mobile video telephony products could exceed $625 million and approach $1 billion by 2010, depending on operator go-to-market strategies. We believe a conference focused on the future of imaging is timely and could lead to a number of new applications, usage scenarios, and partnerships for users, vendors, and service providers in the conferencing industry." Alexis Gerard, President of Future Image, adds, "More camera phones are now sold than digital cameras, and a billion people worldwide soon will become equipped with a variety of visual communications tools. The topic of conferencing and collaboration fits neatly into our broader conference focus on visual communications." Greenberg will appear in a session titled "The Visual Conversation," in which a panel will explore the products, services, and upcoming technologies that will make possible seamless addition of images to communications. LifeSize Communications will demonstrate the improvements provided by its High Definition videoconferencing, delivering video connections to the renowned Monterey Aquarium as well as the general session. Russ Mason, responsible for Clear Channel's global visual systems, will discuss "Building the Visual Enterprise" with Bob Goldstein, co-author of "Going Visual." Futurist Paul Saffo will explain how the shift to an economy of creators is erasing the distinction between product and service. And leaders in optics and opto-mechanics will demonstrate new technologies such as liquid lenses and specialized software-enhanced optics and discuss their business impact. Wainhouse Research has negotiated a special discount rate for anyone who registers for the conference using a unique code. All registrations include attendance at both the 6Sight conference and its companion event, the 6th annual Mobile Imaging Summit. Those interested in attending should contact agreenberg@wainhouse.com.
