What are the distinct benefits that Stockbrokers derive by using this technology
and is Videoconferencing commonly used?

That's a good/interesting question...

It does depend on what you mean by 'stockbrokers'. There are many large financial institutions using video conferencing at room and desktop level across all functions. Avistar (www.avistar.com) currently have good foothold in this area.

Trouble is they're a secretive bunch as the use/benefits etc. can often be about competitive advantage, you might need to be more specific or find some folk willing to talk offline, assuming of course you're not 'industry' and trying to sell. In this case you'll need to find ways of talking to them 1 to 1, not an easy task.
