I wanted to let you know that my favorite part of Telecon 2001 was the Session on Tuesday entitled "Future Watch. What will the future bring for videoconferencing". With Andrew Davis as the moderator, questions were asked of the 5 vendors that I, myself would have asked if given the chance.
I manage the State of Wyoming Video Conferencing System and we've recently switched out our codecs from V-Tel to Tandberg (having had the old Media Max's) and watching the V-Tel story unfold has been amusing. We've been in this business since 1992, and have lost count as to how many different V-Tel account managers we've had over the years.
My favorite question was when Andrew asked them all to name thier main strength in business. I have to admit, most answers were not what I would have chosen, but it did shed some light on each company's view of their own product. My advice to Polycom and V-Tel would be to take another look at themselves because most customers do not see their strengths as they do, and this could be a fatal mistake (and in one case, already has).

I think that it was right decision that Advanstar would conduct a name change for TeleCon to "Collaborate" as things happening in the marketplace righ now is as you know expanding more than the sphere of what the term "TeleCon" implies.

I actually felt personally in myself need for the name change when I visited TeleCon 2000 and before the show.

My only dream anyway is that Advanstar will hold "Collaborate" show in Japan in the near future like other foreign originated shows being held in Japan like COMDEX, Streaming media,Networld+Interop and many others.
