Reading todays Wainhouse I would be interested to hear peoples views on what the future for Avistar holds, they have always occupied a small corner of the market but their revenues continue to drop.

If your a large Avistar user I would be interested to hear what you think will happen if they go under, Avistar does not interoperate very well with other VC equipment so a full refresh of kit would be your only upgrade path.

Jont,

2 weeks ans not a single reply.

Think that probably means there is no future for Avistar.

All their effort appears to be going into IPR legal fights with the likes of Polycom et al.

One interesting aspect is that Avistar's Revenue for the last 9 Mo reporting period was $5.2M, down from previous Yr of $7.0M, with a net loss of $6.5M...!

In the face of this their stock went from around $.60/Share to around $3.25 over the last month and a half with much heavier trading than usual.

They were awarded a summary judgement against Polycom in one element of their ongoing litigation, but it's far from predicting how their case will go.

I think their betting the ranch on this litigation and if it continues in their favor, it might be less painful for Polycom to buy Avistar than to settle or lose the case.

I disagree with jont on one point... Their are several upgrade paths available to existing Avistar users including maintaining their existing Video Network architecture.
